BBQ Ribs

Fall off the bone restaurant style ribs in 45 mins.

Ingredients

  • 1 Rack Baby Back or Spare Ribs (~1.5-2lbs)

  • 1 Cup Water

  • 3 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1/2 Tsp Liquid Smoke

  • 1/4 Cup BBQ Sauce

  • Rub:

  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 Tbsp Smoked Paprika

  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Black Pepper

  • 1/2 Tsp Kosher Salt

  • 1/2 Tsp Chili Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder

  • 1/4 Tsp Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse the ribs and pat them dry. Remove the shiny membrane on the back with a butter knife.

  2. Stir the rub ingredients together in a bowl. Generously coat all sides of the ribs.

  3. Put the trivet in the instant pot. Add the water, apple cider vinegar, and liquid smoke.

  4. Add the ribs to the pot standing vertically and cook at high pressure”:”

  5. Baby back ribs: 23 mins + 5 mins natural release. Increase to 25 mins for multiple racks.

  6. Spare ribs: 35 mins + full natural release (~15mins).

  7. Place the ribs on a pan covered in tinfoil and brush them with BBQ sauce.

  8. Put the ribs in the oven and broil for ~2mins to caramelize the BBQ sauce. Be careful or the ribs will burn.
